Our History
Wartrace Baptist Church is a body of believers rooted in history and growing together in Christ. The church has stood in the same location in the community of Wartrace, TN since February 1888. Having served its community and neighbors in various ways throughout its long history, it continues to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of those around it.
We are a fellowship of Christ followers united around a common love for the Savior and one another.
Our Conviction
Wartrace Baptist seeks to be Biblical in all matters. Our understanding of God, creation, the sin of man, forgiveness and restoration found in Jesus Christ alone, and the place and importance of the local church are all rooted in Scripture. WBC aims to be faithful to the Word of God and obey its teachings and callings in every aspect of life.
Our Commitment
Wartrace Baptist is committed to loving the Lord God with all our being and our neighbor as ourselves. In loving the Lord God, we seek to know Him more through intentional study of His word and worship together with the Body of Christ.
Study of Scripture is essential to our corporate gathering whether it be in the small group settings of Sunday School, the Wednesday night meetings of AWANAs for school age children, or preaching that is rooted in Scripture alone.
WBC seeks to love our neighbor by ministering to both the physical and spiritual needs of those around us. Sometimes this looks like meeting the practical needs of individuals and families while at other times it looks like serving on the mission field, either nationally or internationally, as we share the gospel with those in spiritual darkness.
Our Community
Wartrace Baptist seeks to be a blessing to its community. The first community is the community of believers who have united with WBC in church membership. We believe church membership is important as it unites us with one another around common confessions and provides us with a place of support and love in the midst of all of life's struggles. Through our elder and deacon ministries we seek to be a church that fulfills the one another passages of Scripture.
Secondly WBC seeks to make an impact in the community of Wartrace and surrounding areas. By uniting with schools and other local ministries WBC helps to provide support for families in need throughout the year and helps to provide for individuals and families in crisis.
Our Cooperation
Wartrace Baptist Church is a cooperating church of the Southern Baptist Convention, Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, and New Duck River Baptist Association in matters that align with our convictions and commitments.
