What We Believe
Rooted in Scripture, faithful to the Word of God.
Wartrace Baptist seeks to be Biblical in all matters. Our understanding of God, creation, the sin of man, forgiveness and restoration found in Jesus Christ alone, and the place and importance of the local church are all rooted in Scripture.
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture alone is our guide for faith and practice, and we seek to be faithful to its teachings in every aspect of life.
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, holy, righteous, and full of love.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, was buried, and rose again on the third day.
Salvation
We believe that forgiveness and restoration are found in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is by grace through faith, not by works, so that no one can boast.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, conforming them to the image of Christ and empowering them for service and witness.
The Church
We believe the local church is essential to the Christian life. Church membership unites believers around common confessions and provides a place of support, love, and accountability.
Missions and Evangelism
We believe Christ commissioned His church to make disciples of all nations. We share the gospel locally in Wartrace and the surrounding areas, and support missions nationally and internationally.
Cooperation
We are a cooperating church of the Southern Baptist Convention, Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, and New Duck River Baptist Association, partnering in matters that align with our convictions.
